How can scientific expertise inform political decision-making?

Workshop on science-policy dialogue for marine and environmental researchers

The workshop “How to Communicate in the Political Arena?” improved the science-policy skills of marine and environmental researchers. Organized by DAM in collaboration with Helmholtz SynCom, the event took place on 29-30 January at the WissenschaftsForum Berlin. Thirty researchers from over 15 organizations participated, gaining insights into political processes, the role of scientific expertise in policy-making, and effective science-policy formats. Through practical exercises, they learned how to present scientific findings to policy makers in a clear and solution-oriented way.
