NFDI4Earth Academy #2

The second round of the NFDI4Earth Academy has started: the kick-off of the two-year training program on the topic of “Data Science”, which is offered jointly by Geo.X, Geoverbund ABC/J and DAM, took place from 10 to 12 June. 34 (post-)doctoral students in earth system and data sciences from 23 institutions will further develop their skills at the interface of earth system and data sciences.

The Academy’s program includes seminars, workshops and summer schools. In order to tailor the Academy program to the needs of the participants, the content is defined and designed together with the fellows. Interdisciplinary collaboration is also part of the training program through various networking opportunities and events: the fellows can expand and deepen their research projects, for example through new data science methods, and benefit from the exchange and discourse with other researchers.

The NFDI4Earth Academy is dedicated to promoting innovation and collaboration in the field of Earth system science. Through training and hands-on projects that meet the needs of participants, as well as interdisciplinary exchange, fellows will be empowered to tackle pressing environmental challenges using cutting-edge data science techniques.
